Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to pass a drug screen & background check.
  • 2+ years of CNC mill or lathe experience.
  • Knowledge of G & M Codes.

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ yrs. knowledge of standard safety and manufacturing processes.
  • 2+ years of experience in a machine shop/manufacturing facility.
  • Experience with reading part drawings/blueprints.
  • Familiarity with measurement tools.
  • Computer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, perform set-up changes, and conduct first article inspections on production runs utilizing CNC Machines.
  • Load parts using overhead lifting equipment, prove tapes, operate controls, set offsets, perform simple edits, deburr, and inspect parts for conformance to requirements.
  • Identify and address problems before production runs, observe machine operation for malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions, and adjust controls as needed.
  • Read blueprints, precision measuring instruments, and job orders to determine dimensions, tolerances, and tooling requirements.
  • Maintain knowledge of dimensions and tolerances for tooling instructions, including fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, depth of cut, and cutting tools.
  • Prove out new programs and make simple edits of NC programs on numerically controlled machines.
  • Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly, and perform basic preventative maintenance.
  • Read, interpret, and understand information in work orders, Bills of Materials, and other related documentation.
  • Perform inspection of raw material or verify part serial number before machining.
  • Perform work in a safe and efficient manner within established work instructions and special processes.
  • Perform finish product inspections.
  • Maximize yields and maintain high quality standards to minimize defects.
  • Maintain NOV guidelines on safety, quality, and delivery.
  • Clean work areas as necessary to maintain cleanliness, health, and safety standards.
  • Champion facility goals for Safety, Quality, Innovation, and Cost, providing feedback on process improvements, cost savings, and efficiency/safety opportunities.
  • Remain open to feedback and collaboration with other departments and business units.
  • Perform other reasonable tasks assigned to help the team, operations, or the facility overall.
