About The Position

We are seeking experienced CNC Machinist professionals for our Aerospace & Defense Manufacturing facility. This role requires the ability to operate CNC machines independently on production jobs, troubleshoot processes, and perform setups. You will be responsible for loading programs, verifying operations, performing first piece buy-offs, and conducting daily machine maintenance. A clear understanding of CNC controls, G & M codes, tool management, and inspection equipment is essential. This is a full-time position with day or night shift options, including a 20% night shift differential.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship or Valid Permanent Resident status required
  • Ability to use computer software, company ERP system, clocking in and out of jobs, etc.
  • 2 – 5 years of experience running CNC lathes or CNC Mills
  • Clear understanding of G & M codes for Fanuc based programming
  • Good understanding of GD&T and industry standards of inspection
  • Must be able to stand for the majority of the work shift
  • Sufficient verbal and written communication skills
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work 40+ hours per week

Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC machines without oversight running proven production jobs
  • Understand process troubleshooting techniques
  • Demonstrate proper setup techniques, loading, indicating, touch off, of all tooling
  • Load programs and verify correct operation, revision, etc.
  • Cut jaws and load needed fixtures
  • Perform first piece buy-off
  • Perform daily machine maintenance (checking fluid levels, cleaning out chips, etc.)
  • Maintain a clean and organized work space
  • Utilize CNC controls including G & M program codes
  • Manage tools, entering in offsets without oversight to compensate for tool wear
  • Replace worn and damaged tools (inserts, boring bars, end mills, drills, etc.)
  • Read and understand blueprints (B/P's) including assemblies, dimensions, tolerances, symbols, notes, abbreviations, GD&T, and other standard nomenclature
  • Properly use basic inspection, measuring and test equipment to verify machined dimensions of product
  • Work with dial bore gages, air gages, intertest gages, etc.
  • Perform in-process inspection of parts machined
  • Record inspection data at prescribed intervals
  • Fill out MOT and job routers
  • Maintain correct part counts on the MOT for operations performed
  • Tag hardware and record discrepancies on proper paperwork
  • Address all issues with lead personnel upon discovery
  • Communicate any job-related issues/questions to lead personnel
  • Report all machine collisions and malfunctions to lead personnel
  • Adhere to all company and industry safety standards and protocols
  • Understand industry buy-off requirements, company-specific handling & FOD requirements, product identification requirements, and fill out company paperwork properly
