This position is a night shift position. The schedule is Monday - Thursday, 4:30pm - 3:00am. The CNC Machinist will set up, operate, and maintain CNC milling and turning centers to manufacture aerospace and defense components in accordance with complex engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards. This role requires interpreting detailed job routings, blueprints, GD&T, tool lists, and work instructions with a strong focus on accuracy and repeatability. The machinist will select, install, align, and adjust cutting tools, fixtures, and work-holding devices appropriate for aerospace materials. They will monitor machine feeds, speeds, and offsets, perform in-process and final inspections using precision measuring instruments, and deburr and finish parts to aerospace standards. Accurate documentation of production data, inspections, and process steps within the ERP system is essential for full traceability. The role involves setting up and running low-complexity, unproven parts and proven parts with medium to high complexity, supporting prototype, experimental, and first-article manufacturing efforts. Collaboration with engineering and quality teams to troubleshoot issues, improve manufacturability, and recommend process or tooling enhancements is expected. Active participation in continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and quality initiatives, along with maintaining a clean, organized, and audit-ready work environment in compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements, are key aspects of this position.
