About The Position

Chromalloy is currently seeking qualified candidates for a CNC Machinist- 3rd Shift opening to join our Production & Maintenance organization. The 3rd shift schedule is Sunday through Thursday 11:00pm - 7:00am. Candidates must be able to train on 1st shift, Monday-Friday 7:00AM to 3:00PM.

Requirements

• Must be able to read, write and work with Work Instructions.
• Must have five years machine shop experience.
• HS Diploma or equivalent required
• Must be fluent in English, (speaking, reading, writing)

Nice To Haves

• Experience with internal and external grinders, VTL or other metalworking machines desired.
• Mechanical background preferred
• Ability to use hand tools and gauges (previous experience preferred)

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate standard manual machine tools such as Milling Machines (vertical and horizontal), engine lathes, surface grinders.
• Operate and set-up one or more of the following: CNC Grinders, CNC Milling Machines, CNC Lathe or any other CNC metal-working machine where CNC control knowledge may be directly applied to CNC machine tools operation.
• Apply knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties and layout machining procedures.
• Read and understand blueprints, sketches and description of parts to be worked on or replaced.
• Measure, mark and scribe dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining.
• Verify dimensions and alignment with measuring instruments such as micrometers, height gauges and gauge blocks.
