About The Position
The CNC Machinist is responsible for producing rotors to be used in our centrifuge instruments. In this role you will have the opportunity to set up, trouble shoot and analyze the machining process. There is also opportunity to run a variety of CNC Mills and Lathes throughout the Machine Shop. This position reports to the Rotors Supervisor and is part of the Machine Shop, located in Indianapolis IN, and will be an on-site role.
Requirements
- High School/GED Equivalency
- 3+ years’ machinist experience in manufacturing
- G&M code experience
- Familiarity of CNC machines with Fanuc Controls
- Familiarity with CMM reports
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to develop solutions for parts out of tolerances
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience utilizing a calipers, bore gauges, pins, micrometers, and various measuring devices
- 5’s and troubleshooting
- Ability to lift, move or carry equipment up to 35lb
Responsibilities
- Read blueprints and job orders to obtain product specifications, dimensions, and tolerances
- Position and secure work pieces to holding devices, machine tables, chucks, centers, or fixtures
- Set specified tools and depth of cut in accordance with material specifications and tooling guidelines; follow work instructions and set up books
