About The Position

General Plastics Manufacturing Company, a premier aerospace manufacturer in Tacoma, is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join their CNC Department. This is a hands-on manufacturing role where you will operate computer-controlled tools to machine polyurethane foam and other materials, working with HAAS and CMS machines to meet high-quality, aerospace production standards. The position requires reliable daily attendance and a commitment to quality and safety.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 2 years of CNC experience
  • Experience with GD and T
  • Ability to receive and interpret instructions and directions from supervisors and peers
  • Demonstrate good judgment to perform the job correctly and safely
  • Process minded with experience leading and participating in Continuous Improvement initiatives

Responsibilities

  • Operate computer-controlled tools to machine or process parts, tools, or other work pieces primarily of polyurethane foam but other materials as well.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and related documentation to determine methods and sequence of operations, in addition to, dimensional and finish specifications.
  • Measure dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures.
  • Mount, install, align, secure tools, attachments, fixtures, and work pieces on machines, using hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
  • Effectively and efficiently setup and breakdown machines, removing finished work pieces, tooling changes, or work piece placement, according to required machining sequences.
  • Read, interpret and convey instructions, verbally and in written form.
  • Other duties as assigned, such as helping other departments to meet company goals.
