About The Position

This is a 3rd shift position (11pm-7am) with a starting pay of $21.97/hour based on experience, plus an additional $3/hour shift differential. Requirements

  • Requires a high school education or GED.
  • Requires a high degree of skill, broad knowledge of machining techniques, and familiarity with numerical machine tool operational procedures.
  • Requires four years of diversified manufacturing experience including a working knowledge of machining techniques and experience with numerically controlled machines.
  • Must be able to set up Horizontal mills and Multiplex lathe.
  • Must understand 4th axis machining.
  • Must be able to offset tools based on the part placement from different fixture offsets on the same part from different angles.
  • Must maintain and safeguard the confidential information of the company.
  • Must comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Must maintain a clean work environment following all safety procedures and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Sets up, adjusts, verifies, and operates numerically controlled machines to produce a diversified line of work to close and exacting tolerances and finish specifications.
  • Works from program operational data and setup instructions, defining and coding tool arrangements, fixtures, material clamping methods, machine calibrations, and console settings for operations including two systems (lathes) within the same operating machine.
  • Arranges, mounts, and secures tooling, sets stops, calibrates fixtures or workpieces, and manually cycles the machine through the operation sequence, adjusting for deviations from program specifications.
  • Operates the control console, checks work position at specified reference points, interprets complicated part drawings and specifications, and uses precision inspection instruments to inspect work and maintain tolerance requirements.
  • Recognizes and reports errors in programming and operations, works with systems and programming personnel to correct errors, makes recommendations to supervisors, and diagnoses and adjusts operating difficulties.
  • De-burrs parts, performs final inspection, completes paperwork, and prepares parts for transport to packaging.
  • Sets up machines for and instructs machine operators of lower classification.
