About The Position

Emerson has an exciting opportunity for a quality- and safety-focused CNC Machinist/Programmer in Pasadena, TX. This role involves manufacturing proprietary valve components for industries including oil & gas, petrochemical, power, and aerospace. You will produce new internal and external parts to close tolerances from a variety of materials, including carbon steel, stainless steel, and high-nickel alloys. Additionally, you will support the professional service team by machining and repairing existing valves and valve components. The position is for the 2nd Shift, Monday through Friday, 3:00 PM – 11:30 AM, with a base pay plus a $1.00 shift differential. The pay rate ranges from $30.29 to $43.18 per hour, commensurate with experience, with overtime opportunities available.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience; additional technical education is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a CNC Machinist or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Strong knowledge of CNC programming and machining techniques.
  • Familiarity with a variety of CNC machines and controls.
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer relations skills are a must.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Mechanical related Associates degree or 5+ years of experience with machining and fabricating.
  • Working knowledge of CAD/CAM (MasterCam) & SolidWorks’ modeling is preferred
  • Welding knowledge preferred.
  • Experience in the process control industry is a plus.
  • Knowledge of analyzing, evaluating, diagnosing, and resolving equipment and process related problems is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for personal safety and for the safety of others. Must maintain excellent housekeeping standards.
  • Set-up, indicate, and machine raw material (bar stock, forgings, and castings) to manufacture Fisher parts to OEM print dimensions.
  • Develop and edit CNC programs using G-code and other programming languages.
  • Verify program accuracy and troubleshoot any programming issues.
  • Cross-train on all machines to prevent lapse in production flow including but not limited to engine lathes, manual drills, horizontal bandsaws, CNC lathes, VTLs, HBMs, and CNC mills.
  • Must understand material hardness, cutting tools, speeds and feeds, coolant requirements and machining techniques.
  • Interpret geometric dimensioning and tolerances (GD&T) per part drawings.
  • Potential for field assignments using in-line machine. Some travel may be required.
  • Adherence to all safety, quality, and environmental rules and regulations.
