CNC Machinist/ Programmer

Requirements
- Proven experience operating CNC machinery such as CNC mills, lathes, or grinders with proficiency in CNC G-code programming.
- Strong knowledge of CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software like SolidWorks or CAD systems for interpreting technical drawings.
- Familiarity with CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) programming software for toolpath generation.
- Ability to read mechanical blueprints accurately and interpret mechanical blueprints including GD&T specifications.
- Skilled in using precision measurement instruments such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines for quality control.
- Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of machining tools, tooling setup, metal machining processes, and manual machining techniques including lathe work.
- Experience with Fanuc or similar CNC control systems; familiarity with M-code commands essential.
- Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, feeds, speeds, and tolerances required in machining operations.
- Ability to work safely with power tools, hand tools, forklifts (certification preferred), and other manufacturing equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail; ability to troubleshoot machine issues promptly.
- Commitment to continuous improvement principles such as lean manufacturing practices.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Operate CNC machining equipment such as CNC lathes, milling machines, and grinders using Fanuc or similar control systems.
- Program CNC machines utilizing G-code, M-code, CAM programming software, and Mazatrol controls to produce complex parts efficiently.
- Set up machines by installing tooling, fixtures, and workpieces accurately according to blueprints and technical drawings.
- Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical specifications to determine machining parameters and tolerances.
- Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other measurement instruments to ensure parts meet quality standards.
- Perform machine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting to maintain optimal performance.
- Inspect finished parts for quality compliance through CNC quality inspection techniques and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols related to machine operation and material handling.
- Assist in the setup and operation of manual machining tools when necessary for prototype or specialized tasks.
- Support lean manufacturing initiatives by optimizing processes and reducing waste through efficient machine setup and operation.
