About The Position

As a Level 3 CNC Machinist/CNC Programmer, you'll play a pivotal role in our manufacturing process. You'll be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines to produce intricate medical components made from various metals, ensuring the highest levels of precision and efficiency. In addition to your machining and programming responsibilities, you'll be tasked with troubleshooting any issues that arise during the production process. Your expertise will ensure the consistent quality of our products, meeting the rigorous standards of the medical industry.

Requirements

  • 3+ Years of machining experience in a manufacturing environment (Required)

Nice To Haves

  • High School Or Equivalent (Preferred)
  • Lean Manufacturing Experience (Preferred)
  • Experience in Medical Device Manufacturing (Preferred)
  • Machining Trade School (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Assists with programs for CNC Machines to manufacture medical components according to design specifications utilizing Unigraphics and hand coding (G&M).
  • Optimize manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce cycle times and minimize waste, which may include selecting appropriate cutting tools, specifying machining parameters and fine-tuning programming algorithms to achieve optimal results.
  • Conduct thorough testing and validation of CNC programs to verify dimensional accuracy, surface finish and material integrity.
  • Set up and operate machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine setting to programmed control data ensuring functional and performance.
  • Verify conformance of finished work piece to specifications, using precision measuring instruments.
  • Detect and report faulty equipment, defective material and any unusual conditions to the department supervisor or lead.
  • Collaborate with ME and QE on validation tasks.
  • Performs set ups of 3,4, 5+ Axis CNC machines.
  • Operates multiple machines simultaneously.
  • Monitors the machine to ensure proper program performance.
  • Completes shop work orders, inspection documentation, and daily maintenance sheets.
  • Makes off sets and adjustments to machines without supervision.
  • Troubleshoots problems and escalates to technical experts and leadership as necessary.
  • Advocates for the health and safety of self, co-workers, customers, and the community.
  • Support quality and compliance by adhering to all procedures, work instructions, and forms per the Quality Management Systems (QMS).
