About The Position

Frederick’s Manufacturing LLC, now part of the CCI Group of Companies, is seeking a CNC Machinist – Lathe. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring CNC turning equipment to manufacture precision components that meet engineering specifications, quality standards, and production requirements. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to safe and efficient machining practices. Frederick's Manufacturing LLC has a 60-year history of delivering high-quality equipment and specializes in CNC and conventional machining, subsea fabrication, and wireline tooling for various industries including oil and gas, marine, industrial, petrochemical, agricultural, and wireline sectors. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a machinist apprenticeship or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience operating CNC lathes
  • Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Demonstrated proficiency using precision measuring equipment
  • Solid understanding of turning processes, tooling, feeds, speeds, and materials
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and quality focus

Nice To Haves

  • Journeyperson Machinist certification or Red Seal (where applicable)
  • Experience with CNC controls such as Fanuc, Haas, Siemens, or similar
  • Experience machining tight-tolerance or complex components
  • Working knowledge of G‑code and basic CNC programming principles
  • Experience with live tooling, sub‑spindles, or multi‑axis lathes

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and monitor CNC lathes (including turning centers) to produce precision parts
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and job travelers
  • Load CNC programs, set tooling, adjust offsets, and perform tool changes as required
  • Conduct first‑article inspections and in‑process quality checks using precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, bore gauges)
  • Monitor machining operations and make adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and report machining or equipment issues related to tooling, materials, or programs
  • Perform minor program edits at the machine where authorized
  • Ensure parts meet quality, tolerance, and finish requirements before release
  • Maintain accurate production and quality documentation
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety requirements
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and occupational health and safety regulations
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to quality, productivity, and safety
