About The Position

The CNC Machinist 2 operates under minimal supervision, operating CNC (computer numerical controlled) machinery to manufacture metallic and non-metallic parts. This role is for the Weekend Shift, which runs from 6am to 6:30pm, Friday through Sunday. Prince Industries, founded in 1959, is a global manufacturing partner with seven facilities across the U.S. and China, serving industries from hydraulics to aerospace. They handle everything from just-in-time components to high-volume assemblies and are certified to ISO 9001:2015, ISO 13485, and AS9100 standards.

Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge of CNC milling machines and operations.
  • Must be familiar with MAZAK, HAAS, Fanuc, and Mori Controls.
  • Understands and can function using M and G codes.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Proficiency in using measuring instruments and tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to night shifts and weekends as needed to meet customer or company needs.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year of experience in CNC machining.
  • Ability to understand basic mechanical and manufacturing techniques.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, and reach during the duration of shift, 8-10 hours.
  • Occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or bend.
  • Frequently required to perform repetitive tasks and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Understands and observes all necessary safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as designated in the specific work area assigned.
  • This position requires working night shifts.
  • Due to ITAR regulations, only U.S. persons—defined as U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents (Green Card holders), and U.S. nationals—are eligible for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical degree or certification in CNC machining is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints.
  • Properly and safely loads and unloads raw materials.
  • Uses gages and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements.
  • Ability to power on and operate CNC lathes and mills with minimal assistance.
  • Must be self-sufficient.
  • Demonstrates a basic understanding of cutting tools.
  • Properly chooses/uses inserts, fixtures, and tooling.
  • Understands and can perform basic tool wear offsets.
  • Performs daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on CNC machinery.
  • Assists in the organization and maintenance of the machine shop work environment.
  • Provides constant feedback and input into process improvement within the department.
  • Basic understanding and ability to follow manufacturing processes and procedures.
  • Utilizes and abides by ISO requirements and safety procedures.
  • Complies with all quality policies, specifications, regulations, and instructions.
  • Communicates thoughts and ideas, both verbally and in writing, to co-workers and management.
  • Attends scheduled meetings and actively participates by providing meaningful input.
  • Communicates honestly, professionally, and respectfully with others and demonstrates effective listening skills.
