About The Position

This position is for a CNC Machinist on the 2nd shift, which runs Monday through Friday from 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM. A 15% differential is applied to the 2nd shift pay rate. The role involves performing set-ups and operations of jobs, ensuring parts meet specifications, and making necessary adjustments. It also requires reading blueprints and work instructions, verifying dimensions with measuring instruments, and contributing to a continuous improvement environment.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience setting up and operating CNC Machinery preferably in an aerospace environment.
• Surface grinding experience.
• Knowledge of FANUC or CNC controls.
• Exceptional mechanical ability and strong mathematical skills.
• Experience working with exotic metals, including Inconel, Rene, etc.
• Good attitude and a willingness to learn a new trade or skill.

Responsibilities

• Perform set ups and operation of jobs, ensuring part conformance to specifications and requirements.
• Make necessary modifications or adjustments.
• Read and understand standard and geometric tolerances on blueprints and work instructions/operations sheets.
• Verify dimensions using standard measuring instruments, such as micrometers, depth gages, height gages and verniers.
• Become familiar with Lean practices, 6S, and contributing to a continuous improvement environment.
• Meet customer production scheduling requirements.
