About The Position

Richardson Electronics, Ltd. is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist for their 2nd shift operations. This full-time role involves setting up and operating a variety of machine tools and milling machines to machine metallic work pieces. Requirements

Extended periods of standing.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Good vision for inspecting work and preparing programs/drawings on computer.
4-8 years in setting up CNC lathes and mills a must.
Must be authorized to work in the US.

Responsibilities

Creates and writes CNC programs using CAM computer and/or programming language of CNC machine.
Sets up and runs CNC machines.
Completes paperwork to maintain records and department standards.
Reads complex blueprints and /or job orders for product specification such as dimensions and tolerance.
Reads tooling instructions such as fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, depth of cut and determines sequence of operations.
Selects tool, positions and secures tool holder (chuck, collet, or tool post).
Positions and secures work piece in holding device, machine table, chuck, centers or fixtures.
Designs and makes moderate fixtures and holding devices.
Sets up complex fixtures.
Observes operation of machine and verifies conformance of machine work piece to specifications.
Studies specifications such as blueprints, sketches, models or descriptions and visualizes products to determine materials required and machines to be used to fabricate parts.
Computes dimensions, plans layout, and determines method and sequence of operations.
Responsible for achieving the desired quality level on parts manufactured personally and by lower-level machinists and operators, with the highest degree of labor efficiency possible.
Works in other departments as required by workloads.
