About The Position

As a CNC Machinist 2 at MKS Instruments, you will operate CNC lathe equipment to produce parts that meet dimensional specifications. You will be responsible for machining, cleaning, and inspecting your own work, and will report to the Operations Supervisor.

The role involves working in a manufacturing environment and performing repetitive tasks while maintaining a clean and safe work area. The position works Monday through Friday from 3:40 p.m. to 12:10 a.m.

Requirements

• High school or trade school diploma.
• At least 1 year of CNC machine operator experience.
• Ability to monitor tool wear and make dimensional adjustments (offsets).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Ability to use measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
• Good manual dexterity and coordination.
• Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly and exchange accurate information.
• Dedication to safety when handling mechanical and electrical hardware, high voltage, gas, water, and heat.

Responsibilities

• Ensure correct machine operation, including changing inserts and tool holders and skimming jaws.
• Conduct random inspections of parts to confirm they meet specifications, including visual inspections using a microscope.
• Deburr and clean parts.
• Complete quality-control documentation and inspection sheets accurately.
• Resolve and communicate problems or issues to the supervisor.
• Perform repetitive tasks and other duties as assigned to maintain efficiency and a clean, safe work environment.
• Machine, clean, and inspect assigned work.
