About The Position

Midwest Precision is a CNC manufacturer serving the aerospace, defense, energy, and fluid-power industries. We manufacture complex, close-tolerance components where quality, traceability, and reliable delivery matter. We are seeking a hands-on CNC Machining Supervisor to lead daily machining activities, support employees, and improve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity. A minimum of five years of CNC machining experience, experience with both mills and lathes, and prior supervisory experience are required.

Requirements

  • At least five years of CNC machining experience
  • Experience with both CNC mills and CNC lathes
  • Prior supervisory experience, including assigning work, coaching employees, and addressing performance concerns
  • Strong knowledge of CNC setups, tooling, cutting parameters, offsets, and machining processes
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T
  • Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and in-process inspection
  • Ability to troubleshoot machining issues and support close-tolerance manufacturing
  • Strong communication, organizational, and practical problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and hold employees accountable for results
  • Availability to work first shift and required overtime

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or another highly regulated manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO quality systems
  • Familiarity with ERP systems
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement practices

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop CNC machinists, setup operators, and other assigned employees
  • Coordinate daily work assignments to meet production schedules and customer commitments
  • Provide hands-on technical support for CNC mill and lathe setups, tooling, offsets, and machining troubleshooting
  • Set clear expectations for output, quality, safety, attendance, and accountability
  • Monitor machine performance, labor utilization, downtime, scrap, and rework
  • Identify production issues early and resolve challenges affecting workflow or delivery
  • Partner with the Machining Manager and Supply Chain on production priorities and scheduling
  • Work closely with Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance to resolve process, equipment, and product issues
  • Ensure employees follow approved work instructions, job travelers, inspection requirements, and machining processes
  • Support employee training, performance management, and development in partnership with the Machining Manager and Human Resources
  • Drive continuous improvement in setup times, throughput, workflow, and operational consistency
  • Maintain accurate production, training, and performance documentation
  • Promote a strong safety culture and support compliance with AS9100, customer, and internal requirements
  • Work required overtime to support production needs
  • Perform other duties as assigned
