The CNC Machine Set-up Operator sets up and operates Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machining centers in the assigned department. Reads blueprints, layouts, sketches, or work orders to sets up machines appropriately Operates CNC machines to produce all parts to ISO standards Measures dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures Mounts, installs, aligns, and secures tools, attachments, fixtures, and work pieces on machines using hand tools and precision measuring instruments Stops machines to remove finished work pieces or to change tooling, setup, or work piece placement, according to required machining sequences Transfers commands from servers to computer numerical control (CNC) modules using computer network links Checks to ensure that work pieces are properly lubricated and cooled during machine operation Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as required Completes cross-training on different machines in the area as required by supervision Trains other teammates as required by supervision Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition in accordance with 5S protocol and follows prescribed standard procedures and safety regulations Reports to work regularly and punctually as working schedule requires Performs related duties as assigned by supervision Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
