About The Position
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machine Operator for a contract-to-hire position in Newport News, VA. This role involves operating CNC machinery to bend sheet metal components, install hardware, and assemble metal parts. The ideal candidate will be comfortable using computers for machine operation, demonstrate strong attendance, and be able to lift up to 75 lbs. Nice To Haves
- Previous experience setting up and operating CNC equipment
- Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints
- Experience using calipers and other precision measuring instruments
Responsibilities
- Operate CNC machinery to bend sheet metal components
- Use CNC equipment to install hardware into sheet metal parts
- Assemble metal components using spot welding equipment
- Set up, clean, and maintain tools and machinery
- Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet dimensional specifications
- Maximize productivity by working efficiently to meet production goals
- Handle materials using a forklift, pallet jack, or manually
- Count, organize, and stack completed parts
- Remove burrs and smooth edges on finished products
- Continuously monitor product quality during production runs
- Perform basic maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues as needed
- Complete additional duties as assigned
- Follow all company safety policies and operational procedures
