About The Position

Protomet is seeking a CNC Machining Team Member for their Oak Ridge, TN location. This full-time position operates Monday through Thursday, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The ideal candidate will be efficient, safety-conscious, and possess a positive attitude. Protomet focuses on developing employees' technical skills, safety awareness, and a broad understanding of the business. Machining team members are crucial to the operation, utilizing advanced equipment to produce high-quality boat parts in a hands-on, mechanical production environment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in CNC machining is great, but Protomet also develops employees through their apprentice program.

Responsibilities

• Multi-tasking and running multiple parts on several CNC machines while maintaining a high pace.
• Communicating needs for stock material to the Fabrication department in a timely manner.
• Loading raw aluminum parts and fixture them down to pallets using hand tools.
• Meeting production goals according to the engineering schedule.
• Comprehending drawings and job instructions to verify client specifications.
• Working to develop skills and learn all parts of the machining process, including set-up and tooling changes.
