About The Position

The CNC Machine Operator is responsible for operating CNC machinery to produce precision parts and components according to specifications. This role requires a solid understanding of machine operation, attention to detail, and the ability to perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure optimal machine performance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in CNC machining is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a CNC operator or in a related field.
  • Basic understanding of CNC machine operation and programming.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
  • Proficiency in using precision measuring tools and instruments, such as micrometers, verniers, callipers, height gauges or other specialized measuring instruments.
  • GD&T knowledge
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve minor mechanical issues.
  • Ability to lift and move materials and tools (up to 50 lbs).
  • Comfortable standing for long periods and performing repetitive tasks.
  • Good communication skills for collaborating with team members and supervisors.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

  • vocational training or certification in CNC machining is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, milling, turning, and cutting based on production requirements.
  • Load and unload raw materials and finished parts into and out of the machine.
  • Start and stop machine operation as required to complete production runs.
  • Monitor the machine’s performance during operation to ensure consistent and accurate production.
  • Inspect finished products using precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers) to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Identify and report any deviations from specifications or quality issues to the supervisor.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting the machines to ensure they operate efficiently.
  • Detect and troubleshoot minor mechanical issues and make adjustments or repairs as needed.
  • Collaborate with maintenance personnel for more complex repairs and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of production output, machine settings, and any issues encountered during operation.
  • Complete production logs, inspection reports, and other required documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding production status and any operational concerns.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required for the task at hand.
  • Report any safety hazards or incidents to the supervisor immediately.
