CNC Machine Operator

About The Position
Element is hiring a Machine Operator to join its operations team. The position performs routine and non-routine machining assignments in an assigned department and helps ensure timely, accurate test results under direct supervision. Operators are expected to follow established safety rules, the code of conduct, and company policies and procedures. The listed pay is $25–$35 per hour, depending on experience, and the hours are 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of laboratory safety and machine shop safety protocols.
- Some college-level coursework and/or at least 2 years of experience in a machine shop environment.
- Understanding of machining concepts, measuring instruments, and dimensional concepts.
- Strong computer skills.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift 50+ pounds periodically.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED certificate preferred.
- College or vocational school coursework welcomed.
- Associate degree in a mechanical-related field preferred.
- Ability to apply basic algebra and geometry concepts is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Use cutting equipment to prepare specimens for testing according to customer specifications.
- Maintain equipment and scheduled preventative maintenance.
- Gather and record dimensions in accordance with quality assurance requirements.
- Work with guidance from the Department Manager and Machinist or Senior Machinist coworkers.
