The CNC Machine Operator will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC Lathes for machining aerospace parts. This role involves working as part of a two or three-person cell, performing equipment setups, quality inspections, SPC, tracking material, and packaging finished parts. The operator will work from instructions, pre-programmed coding, and operational data, verifying material to work order details. They will operate the control console, check work position, interpret part drawings, and use measuring instruments for inspection. The position requires the ability to set up, operate, and troubleshoot equipment independently. Responsibilities include safely loading and unloading parts, reading job orders, checking dimensional data against specifications, maintaining a clean work area, and operating material handling equipment. The role also involves measuring and understanding statistical process control (SPC), completing paperwork, and preparing parts for transport. The operator will interpret blueprints, sketches, CNC program printouts, and process sheets to set up machining. They will operate FANUC CNC control consoles, edit parameters for tool and wear offsets, and recognize and use appropriate tooling. The position also includes assisting in machine shop organization, performing daily cleaning and light maintenance, providing feedback for process improvement, and communicating effectively. Flexibility with time and schedule is required to ensure product availability. All work must be performed in accordance with the PCC Code of Conduct.
