About The Position

This role involves operating CNC machines at various experience levels (I, II, and III). Level I is for entry-level individuals looking to develop CNC skills, Level II is for experienced operators comfortable working with limited supervision, and Level III is for advanced operators capable of independent setup, operation, troubleshooting, and optimization of CNC equipment. The position requires adherence to safety and quality procedures, the ability to interpret blueprints and work instructions, and the use of precision measuring tools.

  • Ability to work independently and troubleshoot basic production issues (Level II)

  • Strong blueprint-reading abilities (Level III)
  • Experience working with tight tolerances (Level III)
  • Advanced knowledge of precision measuring equipment (Level III)
  • Strong understanding of tooling, feeds, speeds, and machine offsets (Level III)
  • Ability to independently diagnose and correct machining issues (Level III)

  • CNC programming or program-editing experience is a plus (Level III)

Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC machines according to established procedures
  • Load and unload parts and materials
  • Start and stop machines and monitor production cycles
  • Perform basic visual and dimensional quality checks
  • Use basic measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers
  • Follow work instructions, blueprints, and production specifications
  • Keep the work area clean and organized
  • Report machine or quality issues to a supervisor
  • Follow all safety and quality procedures
  • Independently operate CNC machining equipment
  • Perform machine setups and change tooling as required
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions
  • Make basic machine offsets and adjustments
  • Inspect finished parts to ensure specifications and tolerances are met
  • Use calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring equipment
  • Identify basic machining or quality problems and make appropriate adjustments
  • Monitor tooling and replace worn tools when necessary
  • Maintain accurate production and quality records
  • Follow all safety, quality, and production standards
  • Perform complete CNC machine setups from start to finish
  • Select and install proper tooling, fixtures, and workholding
  • Read and interpret complex blueprints and technical drawings
  • Adjust machine offsets, speeds, feeds, and tooling as necessary
  • Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and quality issues
  • Inspect precision parts and verify tight tolerances
  • Make adjustments to maintain quality and production requirements
  • Assist with first-piece inspections and production approvals
  • Identify opportunities to improve machining processes and efficiency
  • Assist and mentor less-experienced CNC operators when needed
  • Maintain accurate production, setup, and quality documentation
  • Follow all company safety and quality requirements
