About The Position

Element is hiring a Machine Operator to join its expanding operations team. Under direct supervision, the operator performs routine and non-routine machining assignments in the assigned department and ensures test results are timely and accurate. The role requires compliance with established safety rules, the code of conduct, and company policies and procedures. The position is paid $25–$35 per hour, depending on experience, and works from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of laboratory safety.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Some college-level coursework and/or a minimum of two years’ experience in a machine shop environment.
• Understanding of machining concepts.
• Basic understanding of measuring instruments and dimensional concepts.
• Working knowledge of machine shop safety protocol.
• Strong computer skills.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift over 50 pounds occasionally.

Nice To Haves

• College or vocational school coursework.
• Associate degree in a mechanical-related field.
• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Responsibilities

• Use cutting equipment to prepare specimens for testing according to customer specifications.
• Maintain equipment and preventative maintenance schedules.
• Gather and record dimensions in accordance with quality assurance requirements.
