About The Position

Busch Vacuum Solutions is a leading manufacturer of vacuum pumps, compressors, and blowers for use in industries such as semiconductor manufacturing, food processing, metallurgy, biomedical, and material handling. We have an exciting direct hire opportunity for an experienced CNC Machine Operator II at our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Virginia Beach, Virginia! The CNC Machine Operator II is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC grinding and machining equipment to manufacture precision components that meet exact specifications and quality standards. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and experience working with tight tolerances and precision measuring equipment. This is a 2nd shift position, Monday–Friday, 7:00 PM – 3:30 AM. Employees will train on 1st Shift, Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, for approximately 90 days or until leadership determines they are ready to transition to 2nd shift based on business needs and training progress. Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum of 5 years of experience operating CNC machining equipment in a manufacturing environment required.
Experience setting up CNC machines and making minor program adjustments required.
Experience working with precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, gauges, and dial indicators required.
Experience with pneumatic and manual hand tools required.
Basic Microsoft Office skills (Word and Excel) required.
Ability to work with micron-level tolerances preferred.
Manufacturing, machining, or grinding experience strongly preferred.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
Self-motivated and accountable with the ability to work independently.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Safety-focused with a commitment to maintaining clean and organized work areas.
Ability to learn complex manufacturing processes and equipment.

Ability and willingness to pass a 10-panel drug screen and 7-year criminal history check.
Must be willing and able to utilize all required PPE.
Ability and willingness to travel (up to 5%) domestically for training purposes
Ability to work off-hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC grinding and machining equipment according to work instructions and production requirements.
Inspect parts visually and dimensionally before, during, and after machining operations.
Make minor program adjustments and machine offsets as needed to maintain product quality.
Set up and utilize gauge heads and inspection equipment for high-tolerance sizing applications.
Adjust machine settings to ensure accuracy and repeatability.
Dress grinding wheels and replace diamonds when required.
Deburr completed components and prepare parts for the next manufacturing process.
Work to extremely close tolerances using digital micrometers, dial indicators, Vernier calipers, and other precision measuring instruments.
Perform daily preventative maintenance and basic machine upkeep.
Interpret process sheets, work instructions, and technical documentation.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and other duties as assigned.
