About The Position
The Gund Company is hiring a full-time CNC Machine Operator I in the Composites department. The operator helps manufacture thermoset composite materials by running equipment such as presses, forming, extrusion, pultrusion, and shape machines. The work also includes manual tasks using hand tools and secondary or accessory equipment. The role is performed on 2nd or 3rd shift, with a stated wage of $22.00–$26.00 and a shift premium of 15% or 20%.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED with prior hands-on, vocational, or job-related coursework/training, or a similar combination of education and experience.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience in a manufacturing industry with mixing, batching, or compounding equipment.
Responsibilities
- Manufacture molded glass polyester sheets.
- Select and install machine components, including dies, spacers, shims, and/or stops, according to specifications.
- Trim, file, and de-flash molded sheet edges; perform in-process measuring and material inspections.
- Set up tooling, load programs, and set machine parameters to support optimal equipment performance.
- Clean dies and molds using scrapers, brushes, scotch pads, or air hoses.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
