About The Position

This position is responsible for operating a CNC machine to drill and mill various materials according to established procedures and specifications. The operator will ensure parts conform to requirements by utilizing blueprints or drawings, monitoring machine tooling and coolant levels, and performing quality control checks on first articles and in-process parts. The role requires adherence to safety protocols, company attendance policies, and a commitment to lean manufacturing principles.

Requirements

  • Good verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Ability to work from written and verbal instructions.
  • Neat penmanship for completing Manufacturing Plans, inventory logs, etc.
  • Familiarity with the use of inspection hand tools (micrometer, caliper).
  • Ability to be detail oriented.
  • Ability to multi-task several functions.
  • Ability to organize work to optimize efficiency.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • One year experience as a machine operator preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Set up CNC machine to drill and mill required material and/or parts out of aluminum, stainless steel, Kapton, titanium, brass, copper, etc.
  • Utilize blueprints or drawings to verify that machined parts conform to specifications.
  • Monitor coolant levels and maintain CNC tooling.
  • Perform QC on first articles and on in-process parts.
  • Use micrometers and calipers to measure parts.
  • Work scheduled shift and meet company attendance requirements.
  • Be flexible enough to stay late or modify work hours on short notice, if production deadlines require it.
  • Perform the job safely and comply with company safety rules and procedures.
  • Follow the lean philosophy and practice the 5 S’s on a daily basis.
  • Perform additional duties, as assigned.
