About The Position

A well‑established machining and manufacturing company in the Metro Detroit area is seeking a skilled CNC Machine Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with strong mechanical aptitude, hands‑on experience, and a deep understanding of CNC boring mills of all sizes.

Requirements

• Proven experience maintaining CNC machinery, specifically boring mills
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, drives, spindles, lubrication systems, and coolant systems
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics
• Familiarity with CNC controls (Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain, or similar)
• Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to work independently
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in a manufacturing environment

Nice To Haves

• Experience with machine rebuilds or retrofits
• Electrical troubleshooting experience
• Vocational or technical training in industrial maintenance or machining

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on small, medium, and large CNC boring mills
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues
• Conduct machine alignments, calibrations, and rebuilds as needed
• Troubleshoot control systems and support operators with machine performance issues
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation
• Work closely with production and engineering teams to minimize downtime
• Ensure all work meets safety and quality standards
