CNC Lathe Setup Machinist - 1st, 2nd or Weekend Shift
About The Position
The Working Machining Set up Technician -A is responsible for meeting or exceeding set goals for Machine Utilization and First Pass yield for the scheduled machines they are running. This role involves performing thorough, detail-oriented setups that meet or exceed set goals. The technician will maintain the productivity and efficiency of their assigned machines, monitor hourly productivity, and make necessary adjustments. They will also complete scheduled 6s activities, input data into the Amper Utilization tracking system, and maintain good housekeeping and safety standards. The role requires being a positive contributor to the team to help reach scheduled goals.
Requirements
- Regular, predictable attendance.
- Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Ability to successfully pass background checks.
- High School Diploma / or Equivalent required.
- 3+ years' experience in Machining.
- Good work history.
- Must be able to be on your feet for the entire shift.
- Background & Drug Screening required.
Nice To Haves
- Technical diploma in Machining.
- Quality assurance experience.
Responsibilities
- Meet or exceed set goals for Machine Utilization and First Pass yield.
- Perform thorough, detail-oriented setups.
- Maintain the productivity and efficiency of scheduled machines by priority.
- Monitor hourly productivity and make needed adjustments.
- Complete all scheduled 6s activities and sign off on each task.
- Input hourly productivity on the day by hour board.
- Input required data into the Amper Utilization tracking system.
- Maintain good housekeeping and Safety standards.
- Adhere to all Company policies.
- Be a positive contributor to the Team.
- Perform all quality checks and complete all needed documentation for parts assigned.
- Provide accurate hourly data on the DBHB and communicate all obstacles.
- Completes setups for scheduled machines based on the production schedule.
- Can complete setups on 4 & above Axis machines.
- Maintain proper data entry on conformant and non-conformant parts.
- Perform capability studies after completed setup to ensure process is stable.
- Assist in resolving quality issues within a setup.
- Participate in looking for ways to make improvements.
- Cross train in new areas to improve skillset and become a more versatile employee.
- Recommend process improvement measures for cost reductions and production improvements.
- Participate in setup reduction activities.
