About The Position

We are hiring a skilled and experienced CNC Lathe Setup Machinist to set up jobs on Okuma CNC Lathes. The Okuma Lathes are set up with sub-spindle and live tooling. You must be able to set up machines independently to produce high-quality parts out of aluminum and able to set up the machines to run overnight jobs (lights-out).

Requirements

  • 3+ years of hands-on CNC lathe setup and operation experience.
  • Proficiency in interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and geometric dimensioning and tolerances (GD&T).
  • Strong working knowledge of Okuma Lathe controls.
  • Must have ability to select, lift, carry and stack products weighing between 30 & 50 pounds.
  • The ability to stand up a total of 10-12 hours, with breaks, while occasionally bending, stooping, twisting and do repetitive work for 2 to 4 hours at a time.
  • Must complete a pre-employment 10 panel drug screen and partake on a quarterly random screen.

Nice To Haves

  • CNC Machining Technologies certificate or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Install and align workholding fixtures, chucks, collets, and cutting tools.
  • Load, verify, and edit G-code or control programs at the machine.
  • Set tool registers, establish work coordinates, and adjust feeds and speeds.
  • Perform first-article inspections using precision instruments like micrometers and calipers.
  • Diagnose and resolve machining, tooling, or dimensional issues during production runs.
