About The Position

HiFyve is hiring a CNC Machinist in the Aerospace Manufacturing industry in Sidney, OH! This role involves setting up and operating CNC Lathes, Horizontal Machining Centers (HMCs), and Vertical Machining Centers (VMCs). The machinist will perform tooling changes, offsets, machine setups, and first-piece inspections, while reading and interpreting blueprints, work instructions, and GD&T requirements. The primary focus is on manufacturing precision aerospace components while maintaining tight tolerances and quality standards. Responsibilities also include in-process inspections, adjusting machining parameters, troubleshooting issues, monitoring tooling, and documenting production and inspection data. Collaboration with Quality, Engineering, and Production teams is expected to resolve manufacturing issues.

Requirements

  • Experience operating CNC Lathes, Horizontal Machining Centers (HMCs), and Vertical Machining Centers (VMCs).
  • Ability to perform tooling changes, offsets, machine setups, and first-piece inspections.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, work instructions, and GD&T requirements.
  • Experience with in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, bore gages, indicators, and other precision measuring equipment.
  • Ability to adjust tooling, offsets, speeds, feeds, and machining parameters.
  • Skill in troubleshooting machining, tooling, and quality issues.
  • Ability to monitor tooling performance and identify process improvements.
  • Experience completing production and inspection documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform tooling changes, offsets, machine setups, and first-piece inspections.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and GD&T requirements.
  • Manufacture precision aerospace components while maintaining tight tolerances and quality standards.
  • Perform in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, bore gages, indicators, and other precision measuring equipment.
  • Adjust tooling, offsets, speeds, feeds, and machining parameters to maintain quality and productivity.
  • Independently troubleshoot machining, tooling, and quality issues.
  • Monitor tooling performance and identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Accurately complete required production and inspection documentation.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Production teams to resolve manufacturing issues.
