About The Position

South Bay Solutions is a high-precision machine shop making parts for the semiconductor, medical-device, and advanced-technology hardware industries. This position produces machined parts to print by setting up and operating a CNC lathe while maintaining quality, safety standards, and records. It requires substantial lathe setup and operating experience and the ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment. The role is on the swing shift, from 2:30 p.m. to 11:05 p.m.

Requirements

At least 5–7 years of lathe setup experience.
Work with minimal supervision to resolve issues.
Set up machines using program notes and the shop traveler.
Read and interpret prints, including GD&T.
Have a firm understanding of CNC programming, including G/M codes and editing.
Inspect own parts with attention to detail.
Be proficient with inspection tools and methods.
Communicate effectively with the team, other shifts, and management.
High school diploma or GED required.

Nice To Haves

Accredited trade school education and/or an associate degree preferred.

Responsibilities

Produce operator-friendly, quality setups that meet print requirements.
Complete setups efficiently and diligently within the allotted time.
Review production tooling and recommend changes.
Assist others in resolving issues and problems when needed.
Report manufacturing equipment deficiencies or problems to the Manager.
Support and assist machine operators with maintenance and repair tasks.
Maintain a safe, efficient, and clean work environment.
Produce machined parts to print while maintaining quality, safety standards, and records.
