About The Position

Milacron is looking for a CNC Lathe Operator to join our team in Mt. Orab, Ohio. The CNC Lathe operator will work as part of the direct manufacturing shop floor team. In this position, the CNC Lathe operator will use computer numerically controlled (CNC) machinery safely and accurately in a manufacturing environment. This highly skilled professional will work with great concentration and precision while complying with all safety guidelines. The CNC lathe operator will be able to start and power down the machine, make size adjustments, and understand the measuring instrument while maintaining a good part. This position is also responsible for changing and teaching tools (O.D., I.D., drills and cutoffs), change overs, and loading programs while meeting production requirements. This position requires the operation of machinery in a temperature-controlled manufacturing environment. This position requires the ability to read instructions and follow these instructions with precision to produce outputs.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and adjust machine controls; make size adjustments and use measuring instruments (micrometers) to ensure accuracy
  • Change and teach tools (O.D., I.D., drills, cutoff), replace drills/inserts, and perform changeovers
  • Bore chuck jaws; load, edit, read, and understand programs
  • Maintain proper cycle times, feed rates, and spindle speeds
  • Inspect products for conformance and ensure highest quality output
  • Perform operator preventative maintenance; submit maintenance repair requests as needed
  • Track production quantities and time; report issues, malfunctions, or defects
  • Stop production if parts do not meet required specifications
  • Properly identify all product with work order number, inspection status, and operation status
  • Follow all safety guidelines and operate machinery safely
  • Maintain physical presence as required, including weekends/holidays if needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
