About The Position

CubCrafters, an industry leader in light aircraft manufacturing, is seeking a CNC Lathe Operator to set up, operate, and monitor Haas CNC turning equipment to manufacture precision aircraft components. This position ensures parts are produced in accordance with engineering specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and production schedules.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum one (1) year of CNC machining or CNC lathe operating experience preferred.
  • Experience setting up and operating CNC turning centers, preferably Haas equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and specifications.
  • Proficient in the use of precision measuring equipment safely and effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated reliability and regular attendance.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds and frequently perform standing, walking, bending, reaching, kneeling, climbing, and repetitive hand and arm movements throughout the workday.
  • Ability to work in a machining and manufacturing environment with regular exposure to moving machinery, production equipment, metal chips, metal dust, cutting fluids, moderate to high noise levels, and varying indoor temperatures.
  • Ability to wear and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and respirators when required.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate Haas CNC lathe machines to produce precision components.
  • Load and unload raw materials and finished parts.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, work instructions, setup sheets and process specifications.
  • Verify machine settings, tooling, offsets, and program parameters prior to production.
  • Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, thread gauges, and other inspection equipment.
  • Monitor machine performance and make offset adjustments as required to maintain dimensional accuracy.
  • Identify and report quality concerns, tooling issues, equipment malfunctions, and process improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company 5S principals and safety standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.
