About The Position

Nucor Skyline is seeking a Lathe Operator to set up and operate CNC lathes according to blueprints and work instructions. The role may involve Mazak CNC lathes, manual lathes, band saws, and other machinery. This is a safety-sensitive position, and teammates are expected to uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. The role is based in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, and is listed as a second-shift position.

Requirements

Two to three years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Two to three years of experience operating machinery in an industrial environment.
Experience operating CNC lathes.
Experience reading and interpreting blueprints.

Nice To Haves

Experience in the steel industry.
Experience serving on a safety committee.

Responsibilities

Plan and organize daily workload to accommodate the production schedule.
Safely operate equipment.
Review specifications to determine setup procedures, dimensions, and machining sequences required to manufacture parts.
Observe machine operations to detect malfunctions or questionable conditions.
Inspect manufactured parts to ensure conformance to specifications while working toward production goals for cycle time, quantity, and quality.
Perform routine machine maintenance, including cleaning and lubrication.
Initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards.
