The CNC Lathe Operator will set up and operate CNC lathe machines to manufacture parts to print specifications. This role involves reading and interpreting blueprints, selecting proper tooling and fixtures, loading raw materials, and monitoring machining processes. The operator will inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools, make basic machine adjustments, and perform routine maintenance. Ensuring compliance with safety procedures, documenting production data, and collaborating with other teams are also key responsibilities. The role also includes complying with all Butech Bliss safety rules and performing other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Ability to read blueprints and understand (GD&T) (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control
  • Basic math and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Requires use of PPE such as safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and steel‑toe boots.
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • 1-3+ years of CNC lathe operating experience (or entry -level with training)

Nice To Haves

  • Technical training or certification in CNC machining preferred

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC lathe machines to manufacture parts to print specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
  • Select proper tooling and fixtures for each job.
  • Load raw materials and monitor machining processes.
  • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges)
  • Make basic machine adjustments and offsets to maintain quality standards.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and cleaning.
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures and company policies.
  • Document production data, including quantities, defects and machine performance.
  • Collaborate with supervisors, engineers and quality teams as needed.
  • Complies with all Butech Bliss safety rules.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
