About The Position

Haumiller Engineering is a 100% employee-owned company that designs and manufactures high speed automation assembly and test equipment for the life science, personal care and food and beverage industries. We are searching for an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist with a minimum of 3 years’ experience programming and operating Mazak CNC machines. The CNC Lathe Machinist will be responsible for machine set-ups and machining parts according to blueprints and specifications. Additional responsibility will include programming and running Mazak Quick Turn CNC turning center with Mazatrol and Fusion Cam Software. The selected candidate will have the option to work 1st shift Monday – Thursday 7 am – 4 pm and Friday’s 7 am – 12 pm. Or 2nd shift 6 pm – 3 am Monday – Thursday and 3 pm – 8 pm on Fridays. This position is located at our 370 Joseph facility in South Elgin. To be considered for this position, you must submit your resume and complete the pre-screening questions.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience running Mazak CNC machines
  • Proficient reading and interpreting blueprints
  • Experience using measuring equipment, fixtures and the ability to use hand tools for set-up and finishing parts
  • Excellent mathematical skills including knowledge of the metric system
  • Mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand the design of a machine and its functionalities

Nice To Haves

  • Fusion CAM software experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Set-up and operate Mazak CNC machines to produce parts according to blueprints, specifications, manufacturing orders and work instructions
  • Responsible for overseeing lathe operations, previous experience programming and machining lathe parts
  • Previous experience programming Mazak CNC Lathes and Mazatrol machines required
  • Responsible for monitoring the feed and speed of machines during the machining process
  • Recognizes improper machine functioning and makes required adjustments. Identifies and trouble shoots machine operations
  • Maintains correct dimensions of parts while running the job using measuring instruments such as micrometers, comparators, calipers, and gauges. Verifies the conformity of parts to blueprints/specifications during and/or after the run
  • Responsible for training and initiating improvements in the CNC Lathe area
