About The Position

The Laser Operator is responsible for the daily setup, operation, and basic maintenance of one or more laser cutting machines to ensure safe, efficient, and on-time production. This role also supports the Laser Pull team with material staging, housekeeping, and general shop support as needed.

Requirements

Forklift experience required or ability to obtain certification.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and flat patterns.
Basic knowledge of NC machine code (or willingness to learn).
Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication and common industry metals.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Team-oriented with the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Safety-focused mindset.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Bystronic laser equipment preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform daily startup and shutdown of laser equipment.
Load and unload materials; stage raw materials at work centers.
Operate forklifts safely to move materials and finished goods.
Monitor production to ensure adherence to the schedule.
Perform minor maintenance, optic cleaning, and routine equipment upkeep per manufacturer guidelines.
Identify and report equipment issues promptly.
Complete and maintain accurate work-order documentation in line with quality standards.
Inspect laser-cut parts using precision measuring equipment.
Communicate effectively with scheduling, production, and other departments.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Support the Pull department and complete other duties as assigned.
Maintain good attendance and adherence to company policies.
