About The Position

Manufacture traffic control and specialty signs using CNC laser equipment. Operate, load, configure, and calibrate CNC laser machines according to design specifications and blueprints. Assist with machine setup, including CNC program retrieval, lens calibration, and material preparation for daily production. Verify materials are appropriate for each project and ensure finished products meet quality standards. Perform quality inspections, complete required documentation, and maintain high standards of workmanship. Assist with programming, calibration, preventative maintenance, servicing, and basic repairs of CNC laser equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment, ensuring CNC equipment and work areas remain free of hazards. Organize, monitor, and track inventory, including assisting with quarterly inventory counts. Collaborate with the Metal Fabrication Supervisor and Lead to ensure projects are completed accurately, efficiently, and on schedule. Serve as a resource for new employees by answering questions and providing operational guidance. Participate in weekly Sign Shop meetings focused on safety, training, production schedules, deadlines, and product knowledge. Support additional production and shop responsibilities as assigned by supervisors or management.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of metal fabrication, CNC and laser equipment.
  • Required to stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds
  • Strictly follows safety policies, rules, and safe work methods.
  • Promptly corrects or reports safety hazards or unsafe conditions.
  • Promptly reports injuries for diagnosis and treatment.
  • Makes regular suggestions for safety process improvements to support continuous improvement in safety.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a sign manufacturing environment is a plus.
