CNC Laser Operator - 3rd Shift (4-10's)
About The Position
Northern Manufacturing, a worldwide leader in stainless steel fabrication, is seeking a qualified Laser Operator to join our team on 3rd shift. The 3rd shift hours are 7:30pm to 6:00am, Monday-Thursday. As a CNC Laser Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC flat and tube lasers to cut and fabricate parts. This role also involves performing routine preventative maintenance, monitoring machine performance, inspecting parts, and handling material at the workstation. A solid understanding of different material types and thicknesses is essential, as is maintaining a clean, organized, and safe workstation. You will also assist with other shop tasks, including break out and operating a forklift.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- One year experience as a CNC operator, or a high mechanical aptitude preferred
- Basic math and measurement comprehension
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Strong trouble-shooting skills
- Ability to work in an ever-changing, fast paced work environment
- Strong attention to detail and high-quality standards
Responsibilities
- Set-up, program, and operate CNC flat and tube lasers to cut and fabricate parts.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and any trouble shooting required.
- Monitor machine performance.
- Inspect parts for inaccuracies or complications and discuss any issues with supervisor.
- Responsible for handling material at workstation and loading and unloading material from the machine.
- Maintain a solid understanding of different material types and thicknesses.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation.
- Assist with other tasks throughout the shop including break out, operating a forklift, etc.
