About The Position

The CNC Laser Operator operates and supports CNC fiber laser equipment to produce precision-cut and formed sheet metal parts. This hands-on role focuses on machine setup, operation, inspection, and material handling. The operator works with team leads, supervisors, and department managers to complete jobs accurately, efficiently, and to customer specifications.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Basic knowledge of CNC systems and machine controls.
• Ability to read production drawings and flat patterns.
• Ability to use measuring devices and basic hand tools.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Ability to follow work instructions and safety procedures.
• Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Ability to repeatedly lift 25 lbs and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand and walk for 10 to 12 hour shifts.
• Ability to bend, reach, and work around large industrial equipment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience operating CNC fiber lasers.
• Experience with Amada equipment.
• Forklift experience.
• Prior work in a sheet metal or fabrication environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor CNC fiber lasers.
• Load material and unload finished parts from machines.
• Verify programs, tooling, and material before running jobs.
• Perform machine startup, shutdown, and routine daily maintenance.
• Install and set up punches, dies, and job tooling as required.
• Read and interpret 2D and 3D drawings for laser and brake setup.
• Measure parts with gauges and inspection tools to verify angles, dimensions, and accuracy against customer specifications.
• Collaborate with team leads and supervisors to meet daily production goals and communicate issues or quality concerns.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area in alignment with LEAN and 5S principles.
• Assist with tooling inventory, including punches and dies.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
