About The Position

The 2nd Shift Machine Operator will be responsible for the correct set-up and operation of Large CNC or Manual Mills to produce parts efficiently and effectively. Duties may be changed, or additional duties assigned. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Requirements

• Requires a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Able to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
• Strong mechanical aptitude and mathematical skills.
• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
• Experience with common inspection tools (calipers, tape measure, micrometers, etc.).
• Able to troubleshoot and problem solve.
• Able to work independently.

Nice To Haves

• Technical degree in machining preferred.

Responsibilities

• Able to follow standardized work and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment.
• Load and unload heavy raw materials and finished parts, utilizing overhead cranes.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and work instructions to set-up machine according to specifications and operate successfully, selecting appropriate tooling, feeds, and speeds.
• Perform setups of large workpieces, choosing the correcting cutting tools, feeds, and speeds.
• Correctly use micrometers and calipers to read measurements and verify that all machined details are produced in a manner that meets router specifications.
• Maintain accurate job logs, routers, and related documentation.
• Monitor and maintain proper cleanliness of machine and work areas.
• Possess a keen attention to detail, able to identify and resolve maintenance, product, or operations issues.
