Pay Range: $39,200.00 to $47,600.00 Job Summary The CNC Copper Punch Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC punch press machines used to fabricate copper components. This role ensures parts are produced accurately, efficiently, and according to specifications while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Experience operating CNC punch press machines (copper bars preferred)
  • Basic understanding of CNC controls and machine functions
  • Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, tape measures)
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs. and stand for extended periods
  • Frequent standing, bending, and lifting
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with copper fabrication or electrical components
  • Knowledge CNC programming basics
  • Forklift or material handling experience
  • Ability to perform machine setups independently

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC Copper Punch machines
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and job specifications
  • Load raw copper bars into machines and position materials correctly
  • Select and install appropriate tooling (dies and punches)
  • Monitor machine operations and adjust as needed
  • Inspect finished parts for quality, accuracy, and defects using measuring tools
  • Perform basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Maintain production records and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures and company policies
  • Keep work area clean and organized
