About The Position

The Punch – Laser Operator is responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting CNC punch and laser equipment to produce high-precision custom-fabricated metal components for the power industry. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while also collaborating with cross-trained team members.

Requirements

2 years minimum Punch and laser operation experience
High school diploma or equivalent required
Familiarity with material inspection procedures and ISO quality standards
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
Frequent bending, twisting, standing, stooping, sitting, walking, and reaching overhead
Must pass a background check and drug screen

Amada punch and laser equipment experience
Utilize nesting concepts to maximize material efficiency
Formal Laser training

Responsibilities

Set up, operate, and monitor CNC punch and laser machines to produce precision metal parts
Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on punch and laser equipment (Amada preferred)
Change lenses and perform preventive maintenance on laser equipment as required
Modify and run downloaded CNC programs; assist with basic programming adjustments
Read and interpret prints, drawings, and job travelers to fabricate parts accurately
Identify and work with various metals including cold rolled steel, galvanneal, stainless steel, and aluminum
Utilize nesting concepts to maximize material efficiency (preferred)
Inspect parts for quality, accuracy, and conformance to specifications
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times
Work independently while also supporting team members in a cross-trained job shop environment
Adapt to changing daily assignments based on production needs
