About The Position

Prince Industries is seeking a CNC 5-Axis Machinist/Operator for their second shift. This role involves operating established jobs on 5-axis machining centers with Siemens controls, producing quality parts, monitoring the machining process, checking dimensions, and promptly communicating any issues. Requirements

Experience operating CNC machining centers; 5-axis experience required.
Ability to read drawings and use precision measuring tools.
Understanding machining practices, tool wear, and dimensional tolerances.
Ability to follow established processes, work independently, and ask for support when a process moves outside approved limits.
Aerospace or other tight-tolerance machining experience required.
Strong work ethic: Willing to work OT to meet tight deadlines as needed.
High school diploma or GED.
2+ Years of Experience
Training or demonstrated experience with Siemens CNC controls required (preferably 840D or Sinumerik One).
Ability to machine parts to +/- 0.0005”.
Ability to read and interpret GD&T blueprints to the needed specification in creating a part.
Regularly required to stand and reach the duration of shift, 8-10 hours.
Frequently required to perform repetitive or short-cycles work.
Regularly lift, push, or pull up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
Understands and observes all necessary safety procedures: safety glasses, shoes, ear protection, machine interlocks, lifting guidelines, etc. as designated in specific work area assigned.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Siemens CNC controls preferred.
Machining apprenticeship, technical certificate, or associate degree in machining or manufacturing technology preferred, but equivalent hands-on experience is accepted.
Additional training in 5-axis machining, blueprint reading, GD&T, and inspection methods is a plus.
Occasionally required to walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or bend.

Responsibilities

Operate 5-axis CNC machining centers using approved programs and setup instructions.
Load and unload parts, confirm proper seating and clamping, and monitor machining cycles.
Perform routine tool changes and approved tool offset adjustments within established limits.
Check parts at the required intervals using calipers, micrometers, indicators, gauges, and other measuring equipment.
Follow drawings, work instructions, and quality requirements to maintain part dimensions and finish.
Recognize tool wear, abnormal machine conditions, and parts trending toward tolerance limits; stop and notify the appropriate person when needed.
Maintain clean machines and work areas and follow all safety procedures.
Communicate job status, problems, and handoff information to the next shift.
Additional responsibilities assigned by the supervisor may include department transfers to meet production needs.
