About The Position

Rehab Without Walls Neuro Rehabilitation is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide person-centered care in a supportive residential setting. The CNA supports clients’ dignity, comfort, and independence by helping meet personal care needs and assisting nurses with basic patient care. Rehab Without Walls provides neurorehabilitation in people’s homes and community settings for individuals recovering from brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, or stroke/CVA.

Requirements

• Minimum age of 18.
• Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record as defined by agency policy.
• CNA or Home Health Care Aide certification if required by state licensure in the state where care is provided.
• Completion of a recognized home care aide training program or six months of recent experience as an aide.
• Ability to use proper body mechanics while lifting; may be expected to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for periods of time, and to bend, stoop, push, pull, and reach.

Responsibilities

• Assist nurses with basic care activities related to patients’ personal needs and comfort.
• Dress, groom, bathe, and feed patients; take and record vital signs.
• Answer call lights and assist with toileting, oral care, nail care, and catheter care.
• Assist patients in wheelchairs; transport and turn bedridden patients; report changes in patients’ conditions; and take out trash.
• Provide simple or uncomplicated patient care within the scope of CNA certification and applicable Standards of Practice.
• Clean rooms and change bed linens.
• Measure and record temperature, pulse, and respiration rate.
• Give medication as directed by a physician or nurse and record the amount and time given.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
