About The Position
Corewell Health is hiring a Certified Nursing Assistant for its Rehab and Nursing Center – Leffingwell, which provides care for post-acute rehabilitation patients. Patient specialties include neuro rehabilitation, traumatic brain injuries, amputations, heart failure, spinal cord injuries, and joint replacements. Nurse-patient ratios vary by shift and patient population. The facility is designed to support recovery and includes private rooms, therapy services, and amenities such as a gym, private dining area, courtyards, a beauty salon, and lounge and activity areas. As a team member delivering quality direct patient care, the CNA performs basic skills according to department guidelines and communicates observations to the health care team. Under the direction of the Unit Manager or a licensed nurse, the CNA provides day-to-day care to assigned residents or patients, including dressing, bathing, transporting, and feeding. The CNA documents care as directed and in accordance with guidelines.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a State of Michigan-approved CNA training course.
- Michigan Department of Licensing & Regulatory Affairs, Bureau of Community and Health Systems Nursing Assistant credential within 90 days.
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care under the direction of the Unit Manager or a licensed nurse, following unit policies and procedures.
- Provide day-to-day care to assigned residents or patients, including dressing, bathing, transporting, and feeding.
- Perform basic skills in accordance with department guidelines.
- Communicate observations to members of the health care team.
- Document care provided as directed and in accordance with guidelines.
