About The Position

Myrtle Beach Manor is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). The CNA reports directly to the Director of Nursing and provides quality care and services to a consistent group of residents and their families in assisted living and memory care neighborhoods. The role provides hands-on care and physical and emotional support as outlined in each resident’s Personalized Service Plan (PSP), while helping maintain a safe, comfortable, home-like environment. The CNA demonstrates wellness practices and follows applicable federal, state, and local standards and regulations, as well as Phoenix policies, to promote quality resident care and services.

Requirements

• South Carolina CNA licensure.
• Must be at least 18 years of age to perform the personal care aspects of the CNA position.
• Ability to work weekends, evenings, and flexible hours, including peak service delivery days and times.
• High school education preferred and may be required by the state.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience working with elders or people with disabilities.
• Knowledge and experience in assisted living, dementia care, or skilled nursing.

Responsibilities

• Participate in developing and updating Personalized Service Plans and attend service plan review meetings with families as requested.
• Follow residents’ established hydration schedules during the shift.
• Complete resident meal attendance sheets and ensure residents who have not dined in the dining room receive room service or are otherwise accounted for.
• Know and comply with all resident rights.
• Initiate, assign, and assist with activities as appropriate.
• Check assigned residents daily for cleanliness, appropriate clothing, continence issues, and changes in condition.
• Use proper sanitary procedures and universal precautions.
• Check assigned resident rooms daily for cleanliness and neatness, take appropriate action, and ensure high-risk rooms are double-checked.
• Assist with checking laundry rooms and common areas, including bathrooms, for cleanliness and exposed hazardous chemicals; take appropriate action, such as contacting housekeeping, cleaning the area, or securing chemicals.
• Complete all activities of daily living (ADLs) for assigned residents according to each resident’s Personalized Service Plan.
• Respond promptly to security systems and resident call bells, take appropriate action, and reset call bells.
