About The Position

Benchmark at Hamden is hiring a part-time Certified Nursing Assistant to provide care to residents in a warm, comfortable, home-like environment. Available shifts are 1st shift, 7 a.m.–3 p.m., and 2nd shift, 3 p.m.–11 p.m. The schedule is Sunday and Monday or Friday and Saturday.

The CNA assists residents with activities of daily living, documents care and reports changes in residents’ health or behavior, engages residents in meaningful activities, and provides emotional support and exceptional, meaningful care. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

• Valid CNA license required.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in a skilled nursing or assisted living community is preferred but not required.
• Previous experience working with people with dementia is desired.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Document care provided and report changes in residents’ health or behavior to appropriate staff.
• Engage residents in meaningful activities and provide emotional support.
• Use customer service skills to ensure residents receive exceptional and meaningful care.
• Perform other duties as needed.
