CNA / Transporter
About The Position
Harborview Medical Center's Centralized Transport Unit is seeking a CNA / Transporter. This position is 90% FTE (36 hours per week) and is a day shift role. The primary responsibility is transporting patients and supplies to all areas of the hospital, completing transports in an efficient manner, and understanding the importance of patient flow. The successful candidate will also be responsible for understanding patient care needs in collaboration with the Registered Nurse, utilizing technology to respond to transport requests, escalating transport concerns, remaining knowledgeable about safe transportation practices, and utilizing effective communication skills.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Active Nursing Assistant-Certified (CNA) with the State of Washington
- A minimum of 1-year of CNA experience
Responsibilities
- Transporting patients and supplies to all areas of the hospital
- Completes transports in an efficient manner, understanding the importance and impact of patient flow throughout the hospital
- In collaboration with the Registered Nurse, understands patient care needs and utilizes them during transport if necessary (i.e., oxygen)
- Utilize technology to respond to transport requests and escalate transport concerns
- Remains knowledgeable about safe transportation practices
- Utilizes effective and clear communication skills
